The older you get, reasons to train ten-fold!

Chronological age is not a measure of physical or functional capacity. Although we should be aware of common age related declines.

The elderly need strength training more and more as they grow older to stay mobile for everyday activities. The goal of training is to reduce the amount of muscle mass lost and the resulting loss of motor function.

By 2050 the proportion of people older than 60 will rise to some 40%. This means that from todays perspective 1 in 3 adults will be older than 50 and the retirement age will likely rise past 67. Maintaining the ability to work, be independent and self sufficient in daily life will become increasingly important over the coming decades. A crucial factor in this is maintaining a high individual strength capacity.
